Ft Lauderdale. Dune by Auberge Resorts Collection. On the beach in Ft Lauderdale is one of the best restaurants in town. It is the sister restaurant to its Napa Valley California location. Dune restaurant is a delight. Valet parking only, at $8 and credit cards only. This was the only thing we did not like. Why not take cash instead of scanning our credit cards? Anyway, upon entering the restaurant I expected an over the top decor. Instead I was surprised that it was more inviting than impressive. You do feel like you are in a sand dune. It is monochromatic, tan. One might say it looks like one big band aid. The outside bar and fire pit areas are more impressive and give a feeling of luxury. Plus you are on the sand with the ocean a few yards away. Beautiful views. Now the food was a sure hit. Presentations were perfect, creative and best in show. Seared day boat scallops with winter squash, pumpkin seed oil and thick cut braised bacon were divine. Perfectly cooked. Rack of lamb with sumac, charred cucumber and tzatziki sauce were the best lamb chops ever. A+ quality, tender and not gamey tasting. Two double cut chops. Tropical fruit bowl with coconut sorbet, mixed tropical fruit and berries for dessert was a palate pleaser. Happy hour daily at the bars. Service is top notch. Dine at Dune. It is one of the best food experiences in Florida.
