Pembroke Pines. When I eventually found Capriccio’s Italian Ristorante on North University Drive near the Hard Rock Casino, I didn’t know what to expect. The restaurant takes up most of the strip center’s real estate. But when I walked in I was amazed. I was transported to Italy. It reminded me of every top old school classic Italian joints I ever ate ate. Gaudy decor, wine room feel, gold and wood and statues abound. The house lobster dish rocked it. A two pound lobster. Meat removed, cut up and put back in the shell. Covered in a delicious wild mushroom sauce. There was an abundant amount of wild mushrooms and potatoes all over the lobster. I would have not thought of adding mushrooms with a lobster dish. But the meaty shiitake added depth, breadth and girth to the dish. Very tasty – Jasmine Rice
