I recent wine tasting event in Miami, I had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie Honig of Honig Vineyard and Winery. I was able to taste two excellent Cabernet Sauvignon selections made at her family winery.
-2016 Honig Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, $50. Deep dark ripe stone fruit, wild black berries, currant and anise spice pop on the tongue. Milk chocolate. Complex umami nuances throughout the palate. Cult like. Well balanced. A long delicious finish. One of the best productions of what a great Napa Cab Sav tastes like at a reasonable price point.
– 2014 Honig Napa Valley Rutherford, Cambell Vineyard, $110. Inky. Lush. Smooth. Silky. Bing cherry, sour cherry, currant, purple fruit swirl harmoniously on the tongue. Acidic balance. Lingering finish – Keith Ian
