Mario’s Osteria on Glades Road near FAU, is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Its cool modern digs makes it feel like its the place to be. Two bars one inside and the other outside both with TV’s are a great place to watch a game. Happy hour is 7 days a week from 11am to 6 pm. Almost all menu apps are half price. One of the best HH deals in town. On the main menu the lamb and veal chops rule. Huge tender chunks of meat. Chicken scarpariello on the bone of course, has a great sauce that makes this dish. The meatballs and spaghetti dish is hot and spicy. The eggplant tower is great for eggplant lovers. Salads are huge and refreshing. Service is hit and miss as in most Florida restaurants. The mens bathroom is small for such a grand establishment. Valet parking might be the best bet in this crowded upscale shopping plaza. Or try to find a spot in the front or back parking lots.
*Most people do not know that the $15 Italian Prime hamburger is the *FFWJ best burger in Florida choice*. After all who would think about ordering a burger at an Italian restaurant? I did for lunch one day. And it turns out to be one of my great decisions in life. As their menu states:
Italian Prime Burger – Brioche Roll, 8 oz. Beef Blend – Short Rib, Brisket and Chuck, Parmesan Frico / Crisp Grilled Portabella Mushroom, Provolone Cheese / Roasted Red Peppers, Lettuce / Tomato / Pickle Chips
