The Canada Goose has landed. WAWA named after the town in Pennsylvania it was established in. Their Canada Goose symbol soars high as these Interstate 95 rest stop like stores invade South Florida. Boca Raton (Parkland), Deerfield Beach, Ft Lauderdale, Davie, Pompano and more on the way. It took a few visits for me to figure out why everybody loves WAWA. Gas is cheap. The layout is convenient. Bathrooms, outside casual seating, pre-made salads, sandwiches, fresh squeezed OJ, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, hot soup and all the typical rest stop snacks are here. There is a $1 any size soda choice. Can’t beat that deal. A cafe that makes all types of coffee drinks. Donuts $3.99 for 6. Try the chocolate covered donut $.99 each. The fresh food kitchen is surprisingly very good. Better than most sandwich chains at much lower prices. Salads, soups, sandwiches and any combo of these are served. I tried a fried chicken sub with lettuce, tomato, red peppers, oregano and paid the extra for avocado. The bread is baked fresh in house. This combo was about $5 for a 6 inch. I tried the same combo as a snack for about $4. I mean its fresh, inexpensive, quick and tasty. My other favorites are the club sandwiches. Try the BLT w/ avocado and the turkey club. Both are about $5 each and delish. A vast selection of toppings and dressing are free add-ons for any sandwich. Minimal up charges for bacon and avocado. Do not be intimidated by the automated ordering system screen. Just stand by one of the screens in the back area so you do not feel rushed. It will take you about five minutes to figure out how to order. You can’t mess up. You can always start over. When you submit your first sandwich order you will be a WAWA graduate. Let this Golden Goose land! Enjoy
